To this!!!!!!!!Living in North Carolina for 9 + years afforded me the chance to sample all kinds of great BBQ. Visits to see Micah in Texas found me seeking out even more BBQ. I love it all. Imagine my excitement when I realized that I could make some myself in the comfort of my little ole’ home with the help of my crockpot and 3 –count them on one hand—-ingredients. It features the favorite beverage of son number 2 whose 26th birthday arrives next week. So in honor of Aaron—-Slow Cooker Pulled Pork.
Slow Cooker Pulled Pork
1 2 pound pork tenderloin or pork butt roast
1 12 ounce can root beer
1 18 ounce jar BBQ sauce (this is where you can make it taste exactly like YOU want by selecting the right sauce)
1. Place tenderloin or roast in slow cooker. Pour root beer over meat.
2. Cook on low till the meat shreds easily with a fork–usually 6-7 hours.
3. Drain well . Shred meat (I use 2 forks to shred.) Stir in BBQ sauce and serve over buns. Can you say EASY and YUMMY?
Love pulled pork! Root beer, who would have thought?
I know! It is so easy and so moist and yummy!
We were just talking about making pulled pork this weekend. I think this is a good Sunday supper project!
Put it in the crock pot and leave it! The great thing is that you can make it whatever style you like- by adding the sauce that you like the best. Last year for a picnic I made a bunch and had one with the vinegar based sauce and one with the sweet smokey sauce and it was a huge hit!
This looks delicious – well, especially the second photo! Will definitely do this!
And thank you for a fabulous month Beth Ann and featuring Leslie’s World Race – you are a ridiculously special and loving and compassionate person and I am so thankful to have you in my life! You teach me!
I can’t wait to count comments tonight!!! I am thrilled to be a baby part of her journey this way and helping to spread the word about World Race. I am blessed by you and your friendship!!! Hugs!
Throw some Cole slaw on it and enjoy it Memphis Style!
Exactly! That is the beauty of it—-you can make it however you like!!! I love coleslaw on BBQ!
THIS LOOKS DELICIOUS!
Thanks, Lily!!! The second picture especially, right? First picture—not so much.

So you dined outdoors. Us, too, when Randy grilled Iowa chops last evening.
No cooked carrots, I see.
I made this last week and froze half of it. But we did fine out last night at The Quarry — had tapas and ate outside. The place was hopping!!!!

This is one of our favorites and I am planning on making it for Cole’s graduation party. Or at least it is under consideration. I love that the left-overs freeze so well.
It is a great recipe for gatherings like that!!! I love that you can make it like you like—with your own sauce and whatnot. Yum.
This sounds really good. I think I should try it some day when I am in the mood to cook.
