Teapot Tuesday

Ah---it's Tuesday and if you have been around It's Just Life for any length of time you know it is Teapot Tuesday where I highlight a teapot from my massive collection.  I know I should be downsizing and all in anticipation of our move to Texas but not when it comes to teapots. Hey---I did manage to get of a lawnmower and an old coffee maker today so that counts, right? Today's teapot is a lovely purse themed teapot---one that is an Annie Rowe Collectable and purely decorative and not … [Read more...]

Teapot Tuesday

Today's teapot is a lovely blue floral patterned one that I got a great deal on at one of my favorite shopping places---Marshall's.  There are always bargain teapots to be found there and at HomeGoods so if you are ever in need of one make sure you check their aisles.   When you have nobody you can make a cup of tea for, when nobody needs you, that is when I think life is over. Audrey Hepburn   … [Read more...]

Teapot Tuesday

“Take some more tea," the March Hare said to Alice, very earnestly. "I've had nothing yet," Alice replied in an offended tone, "so I can't take more." "You mean you can't take less," said the Hatter: "it's very easy to take more than nothing." "Nobody asked your opinion," said Alice.” ― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland … [Read more...]

Teapot Tuesday

I have been stuck on a fall teapot bent lately and today's is a perfect little pumpkin.  I think he has a lot of personality so I brought him out into the sunshine to let him show off.     “There is a great deal of poetry and fine sentiment in a chest of tea."  Ralph Waldo Emerson … [Read more...]

How about talking turkey here?  I know you guys love Teapot Tuesday as much as I do so here is a turkey teapot to make  you think of Thanksgiving.  I am thankful it is not November!!!  How about you?   “There are those who love to get dirty and fix things. They drink coffee at dawn, beer after work. And those who stay clean, just appreciate things. At breakfast they have milk and juice at night. There are those who do both, they drink tea.”  Gary Snyder … [Read more...]

Teapot Tuesday

An oriental twist on the teapot today!  This one is more ornamental than functional but I love the expression of the face--what do you think?   “When we sip tea, we are on our way to serenity.”  Alexandra Stoddard … [Read more...]

Teapot Tuesday

I thought I had featured this little darling a while ago but can't find a post with her being featured so here she is---an adorable Alice in Wonderland teapot from Hilary from Feeling Beachie!!!  She went out of her way to have this special teapot sent to me and I adore her!! She sits next to my Mad Hatter teapot now and they have gotten along just fine, thank you very much. But I try to steal other moments. Sometimes I get up very early in the morning and enjoy a quiet house and cup of … [Read more...]

Teapot Tuesday

Another birthday gift--this time from my sister in law and not one that I can actually serve humans with but I can offer up a tasty snack for my feathered friends.  What do you think?  Would you pop in for a nibble if you were a bird? I always fear that creation will expire before tea-time. (Quote by - Rev. Sydney Smith) … [Read more...]

Teapot Tuesday

This one came from my Mom and I love the simplicity of it. The raised bumps on the surface give it a nice texture and the delicate flowers complete what used to be a vessel for lovely flowers.  You never know what you are going to be able to find in thrift shops or other out of the way places.  I always have my eyes open for "finds" like this one but have not been too lucky recently.  I guess they are all hiding from me. Happy Teapot Tuesday to you … [Read more...]

Teapot Tuesday—Birthday Teapot!

Last week I celebrated my 28th birthday and I already knew what one of my presents was because my wonderful husband had let me pick it out on a recent trip to Galena, Illinois.  If you have never been to Galena you MUST put it on your places to see list.  When we lived in Freeport, Illinois it was just a hop, skip and a jump there and we both fell in love with it.   It has changed a lot in the years since we last visited but still has the same charm and appeal. I found a great shop that is … [Read more...]
