The Sun Still Comes Up

Did you ever think about that?  The sun still comes up. Every day.  Some days it may be hidden by clouds.  Some days it may be covered with raindrops.  Some days, heaven forbid it, there may even be snow that covers the brilliance of the sun but it ALWAYS comes up.  Without fail. I was just pondering that fact this past week when I have felt the burdens of several of my friends.  If I could offer one word of comfort to any of them it would be just that fact---the sun still comes up.   No … [Read more...]

Transitions Are Never Easy

Are you ready???  For the week??  For Christmas??  I am happy to say that I think that I am!  I "said" I would downsize it all this year since we are kind of in transition.  But as usual I lied.   Since we are going to be in Florida for the actual celebration I shipped all our packages to our eldest son's place in Jacksonville Beach.  UPS tracking told me that all 4 gigantic boxes arrived last night.  Never mind that I sent yet another one out yesterday.  Now that one included the cookies and … [Read more...]

Never Forget

Today is a day of reflection for our country.  A day to remember that we are still strong.  A day to remember heroes and a day to remember loved ones who were taken from us on a day that won't be forgotten.  On this 10th anniversary of the destruction of the Twin Towers it seems that everyone in the US can remember exactly where and what they were doing at that moment when they first heard the news.  As for me---I was in the warehouse at our business ---listening to the news.  When we heard the … [Read more...]

Someone up there is messing with me.   Seriously.  I don't need drama in my life now.  I have enough, thank you very much!  (I really don't but I wanted you all to feel sorry for me!)   You all know the story about Smiley the Hermit Crab.  If you don't or need your memory refreshed check out my blog post on this day.    It was a miracle.  The neatest thing ever.  Smiley even left me an I love you message in the mint where I had banished his empty shell...or so I thought. Today I came home to … [Read more...]

Trying to Make Sense of it All….

"All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah!  Father of all mercy!  God of all healing counsel!  He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us.  We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than the good times of his healing comfort---we get a full measure of that, … [Read more...]
