From Water to Research–Comments for A Cause

I am a little late in posting today but I am finally getting to the exciting news about Comments for a Cause. For the past 2 1/2 years I have featured a different cause each month on It's Just Life and for every comment made during that month on any blog post I have donated 50 cents to that featured cause.  My husband and I are thrilled with the response that this has elicited and each month the perfect cause seems to appear. In September I chose Samaritan's Purse---specifically their work in … [Read more...]

A Day Woven in My Memory

This summer brought many trips and excursions and time with family and friends.  Looking back I realize I have hardly posted anything about much of them at all.  I don't want to bombard your inboxes with blog posts so I have held back.  Today join me as I remember my trip with my pal, Sal, earlier this summer to Columbus, Ohio and for our day exploring all things Longaberger.  It was a great day spent wandering the grounds of the Longaberger Homestead and Dresden. The same store … [Read more...]

Teapot Tuesday

My recent trip to Dresden, Ohio --home of all things Longaberger found me looking at teapots and not baskets.  Imagine that!  I have a couple Longaberger teapots on my collection already so I was not really looking for one there but I did find a cute basket themed one in one of the little shops in Dresden.  It was a steal at $7.50 and even if it is not an official Longaberger item it will always remind me of a great trip with a great friend. Basket Case

My good friend, Sally, and I met for a Girl's Trip in Columbus this summer and what a great time we had.  This will be the first of a couple posts highlighting some of the things that we saw when we were there.  One day was devoted to going to Dresden and seeing all things Longaberger.  Now if you don't know what Longaberger is I can fill you in a little bit.  Dave Longaberger founded the company in 1973 based on his family's basketmaking heritage.  The rest is history.  The success of … [Read more...]

If It’s Tuesday It Must Be Teapot Day…AGAIN!

And today's star is the perfect pot for brewing tea to be shared with friends!!! The Longaberger teapot in my collection came via  my very own personal Longaberger representative and blog fan --Becky Miracle.  I love this one.  It is sturdy and large and has brewed many fine cuppas.  Add to it that it features a red design and it is a win win!!!  If you need a Longaberger consultant I would highly recommend Becky---a link to her website here will help you find the perfect basket or Longaberger … [Read more...]

Ahh….What a Nice Surprise!

Sometimes someone out there somehow just knows when you need a lift!  Today, for some reason, I did and I had a wonderful surprise that awaited me when I went to the mail box!  I found a little package with a really sweet homemade card (she just got a new Cricut machine!), some fall coasters and post it notes and a fabulous Longaberger checkbook / credit card/ holder cover thingy!!!  I loved it!  And all "Just Because"!!!  No special reason---just because she was thinking about me.  Who, you may … [Read more...]
