Mustaches to Docs—Comments for A Cause

November is Men's Health Awareness Month and the Comments for a Cause for the month was designated to go to my oldest son's efforts to raise money for Movember Foundation US.  Micah's goal was to grow an amazing mustache that rivaled Tom Selleck's and I think he came pretty close, what do you think?   I am thrilled to be able to report that because of YOU we will be donating $210 to Micah's November efforts.  If you would like to make a small donation of  your own please click … [Read more...]

Comments for a Cause: Racing with Leslie

It's the first of the month and around here at It's Just Life that means that it is time to count the comments!  This past month I chose a local group in Mason City called My Happy Place that creates wonderful rooms for kids who have endured or are enduring some crisis in their lives.  It is a wonderful way to show these kids that people care and that they can have their own special place.  I can not say enough about this organization and the dreams that they are helping to come true.  We made a … [Read more...]

Making Wishes Come True

It is March 1st and that means it is time to focus on Comments for a Cause here at It's Just Life.  If you are new follower (thank YOU!) this is the way it works.  Each month I select a charity or cause to support.  For each legitimate comment on ANY post during that month I promise to make a donation of 50 cents to that cause.  Legitimate = a comment that shows that you actually read the post and actually made a comment relevant to it.   Simple, right? In February I was thrilled to find … [Read more...]

Saving Homes and Holy Lemonade

Ever wonder why I take blogging so seriously?   At times it appears to have become a full time job with little pay but you know what?   It is all about connecting with people and the relationships that we build with one another. Stay with me on this one--it is kind of complicated.  I have followed Rara's blog Rarasaur for quite awhile.  Rara is an amazing lady who is very compassionate and loving and caring and all those things that I like to embrace in my own life.  She sponsored the NaNo … [Read more...]

Comments Pave the Way for Both Research and Global Arts Therapy

I never dreamed when I started doing Comments for a Cause in April 2011 that I would get so wrapped up in the causes that I discovered.   It has been such a blessing to both my husband and myself to be able to support some wonderful people and causes along the way.  Every month the new "cause" presents itself and I have no doubt that it is God-guided.  The other neat outcome is that others have joined in and if you check out the right side of my blog you will find a spot where I list other … [Read more...]

Comments Pave “The Way”

During the month of December I designated Comments for a Cause to go to UMCOR specifically directed to relief efforts for Tyhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.  I am happy to report that with your help we will be donating $234.50 to UMCOR directly for aid to continue to be given to help the folks in this disaster ravaged area.   Our family also designated this as the Christmas charity this year so it was a family effort also and I am thrilled that so much was donated to help in this extreme time of … [Read more...]

Applause, Applause, Applause

The month of November was a challenge in several ways and one of them was that I committed to write a blog post every single day. If you have followed me for any length of time you know that I normally average about 5 posts a week with 2 of those being taken up with Teapot Tuesday and Wordless Wednesday.  I normally do a blog hop on Friday that Hilary at Feeling Beachie hosts but the past month I have put that on the back burner and done more writing posts.  Add to it that our Comments for a … [Read more...]
