Books, Books, Books! I’ve Got Books!

You may remember that I joined up with the Chaotic Goddess bunch to do a Book Swap awhile back and it is time to fulfill the final part of my obligation and post about what my wonderful swap partner, Ellen from The Canon, gifted me. The concept was simple----each swap partner was to gift the other with a book that she/he loves, one that hasn't been read yet and one that the partner wanted.  Ellen did a smashing job of gifting me the perfect trio of books. First of all----book number one … [Read more...]

For the Love of Books!

It is no secret that I am a book lover.  I am not picky.  Any size or shape.  Any color. Any age. Any subject.  There is room in my heart for each and every one of them. You may remember I joined in on a fun Mug O' Comfort swap awhile ago and was thrilled to be a part of that swap.  The ladies at Chaotic Goddess are pretty wonderful about offering great swaps and this upcoming one is that I put on my calendar so I would be sure to not forget. Because it is all about books!!! There are … [Read more...]

A Bit of Post World Book Night Syndrome

Have you ever anticipated something for a really long time and then when the thing that you anticipated for so long finally arrives it is a bit of a let down emotionally?  I think I am suffering Post World Book Night Syndrome. Back in February I shared the wonderful news that I was one of the chosen ones meaning that I was selected to be a book giver for World Book Night on April 23, 2014.  You can read here how excited I was to be chosen. If you are not aware of what World Book Night is all about it is an amazing opportunity … [Read more...]

I’m Chosen! I’m Chosen!

The email came.  I whooped!  I hollered!  I yelled at the husband and told him that I was in!  Yes--this news deserves all of those exclamation marks, my friends, because "I" was selected to be a World Book Night 2014 giver! One of my bloggy friends, Bernie, who writes a very witty and engaging blog over at One Mixed Bag got me interested last year when she put information on Facebook about World Book Night.  I had never heard of it before so of course I was drawn in since I am all about … [Read more...]

Have you read “House Rules” yet? Check out this review.

Been on a reading jag and this is a book I read about a month ago. I enjoyed it but then I always enjoy books by Jodi Picoult. I think she has a great style and she always writes about things with meaning---a cause or something that is currently in the news. My niece who has worked with many autistic children over the years said she thought it was a good book too and that the research that the author had done was evident. There were parts that maybe were a tad predictable but then a lot of … [Read more...]
