SHINE!

Today I am thrilled to share my blog with author Jackie Cangro.  I first found Jackie through a mutual blogger and started to follow her posts.  She has a huge heart and I believe we share a lot of the same values and ideals which makes her the perfect person to guest post on It's Just Life. Did I mention she is an author?  Jackie's book The Subway Chronicles: More Scenes from Life in New York had me enthralled and hoping I would run into some of the characters she has met on the New York … [Read more...]

Claudia Must Die—-or Must She? It’s Up to YOU to Find Out.

I have had the honor and privilege of making so many great friends because of blogging.  Some of my favorite bloggers are now published authors and many have started their publishing career during the time that I have followed their blogs so that makes me believe that I am part of the process.  Not true, of course, but it certainly is  exciting to be on the journey right along with them. Today I am thrilled to feature my friend, T.B.Markinson, who has become a great friend across the pond. … [Read more...]

Thanksgiving Prayer

Psalm 111 Praise the Lord. I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart, in the company of the upright, in the congregation. Great are the works of the Lord, studied by all who have pleasure in them. Full of honor and majesty is his work, and his righteousness endures for ever. He has caused his wonderful works to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and merciful. He provides food for those who fear him; he is ever mindful of his covenant. He has shown his people the power of his … [Read more...]

Living Large on Teapot Tuesday

Sometimes you see something that you HAVE to have.  Case in point this past weekend when my Mooresville friends, Judy and Ann and I explored the Main Street Antique and Design Gallery that resides in the old Burlington Mill facility in the downtown area of the town in North Carolina that I love to return to.  The warehouse is huge and filled with vendors who  have booths that seek antiques as well as new merchandise, handmade items and all kinds of vintage and unique and yes--sometimes quirky … [Read more...]

Share Your World –Week 46

Cee from Cee's Photography offers a weekly challenge to Share Your World . What a great way to share what is going on in my little mind without having to think too much.  Hop on over to Cee's and join in on the Share Your World challenge.  I don't do it every week but it is fun to do it every once in awhile.  This week's questions made me think....just a little bit. On a vacation what you would require in any place that you sleep? A comfy bed and good pillows---I have spent my share of nights … [Read more...]

Susie Q Cafe Valentine Diner Wins Hearts

Earlier this year Chris and I were on a quest to visit a lot of different places in the Mason City area and beyond that we had not visited previously.  It seemed like we had missed a lot in our town that we needed to become acquainted with.  So we visited this cute little diner called Suzie Q Cafe which is located in downtown Mason City on 2nd Street, NW.  What I forgot to do was write a blog post about it and of course when I looked for the pictures I took I could not find them.  So that meant … [Read more...]

Nature Loving Teapot on Teapot Tuesday

This sweet teapot was a gem I picked up while I was in Faribault, MN celebrating Audrey's birthday (from Minnesota Prairie Roots).  This one was at a lovely shop called The Nook and Cranny and it was one of a whole plethora that caught my eye but this one made its way home with me.   If you are even in the area you definitely need to check this gem of a shop out because they are loaded with antiques and gifts galore that just may need to make a trip home in your car. You have a … [Read more...]

A Chilly Reception on Teapot Tuesday

I am always on the lookout for different takes on the basic teapot and I found this little (and I do mean little) gem and had to make room in my collection for it.  It was a bargain price and it spoke volumes in character even if it is not a practical teapot for everyday use.  Not all of them have to be functional, right? Just look at the "coils" on the back of the fridge! Eggs and condiments in the door! Looks to me like it is fully stocked and ready for company! But perhaps it is … [Read more...]
