Wordless Wednesday

  1. Love it, Beth Ann. Looks like a little gator love. Hope you are staying warm.

    Hugs from Ecuador,

  2. Ah…so sweet…

  3. Just waiting for you to come along and snap their pic, I’m sure. How do you tell the difference b/n alligators and crocodiles?

    • Alligators live in fresh water marshes and the like and crocs tend to live in salt water. Their snouts are a lot different too.Snout shape: Alligators have wider, U-shaped snouts, while crocodile front ends are more pointed and V-shaped.
Toothy grin: When their snouts are shut, crocodiles look like they’re flashing a toothy grin, as the fourth tooth on each side of the lower jaw sticks up over the upper lip. For alligators, the upper jaw is wider than the lower one, so when they close their mouths, all their teeth are hidden.

  4. Gators snuggling. That’s kinda cute.

  5. Looks like a little love nesting is going on.

  6. aww, they almost, ALMOST look cuddly!

  7. Cuddly? Cute? Snuggling? People!! They are fast, dog eating, miserable creatures with smug smiles to boot. Any moment he or she will snap his partners limb off and and saunter away. Ok. That is harsh. They are god creatures after all…. It’s a wonderful picture of the miserable reptilian beasts.

  8. Yikes, you got close enough to take this amazing shot?!? You’re one brave woman, Beth Ann. I keep thinking about my Sheltie and knowing how these critters LOVE small animals….

  9. I can just hear them now saying “Come join us Beth Ann”! We have a few of those here too. One wandered out of the river and onto a county road intersection back in summer; was only 9′ long….

  10. What a beautiful lizard!

  11. oh…oh my….. that looks like a cuddle that could hurt me!
I am sure they are very gentle with one another….. right?

  12. Ooooh, scary! Where did you see these?

  13. I love driving along Alligator Alley and checking for gators sunning themselves on the banks of the canals in the Everglades. It’s pretty awesome to see.

  14. I love these guys! They are fascinating.

  15. I almost missed this interesting picture as I had a pretty full day yesterday. Good picture.

  16. Interesting. They just don’t seem the warm, fuzzy type, do they?

I love your comments--each one makes me smile and makes a difference for Comments for a Cause! Thanks!
