Today is Friday which means it is time to join up with Hilary and her Friday blog hop over at Feeling Beachie. If you want to join in on the fun hop over there and sign up. Please feel free to leave any of your “answers” in the comments here also. I love to hear what we have in common.
1) I hate when I _____
2) I sometimes long for _____
3) Thinking about ___ always makes me ____
4) My favorite day of this week so far was ___ because____
My answers:
1) I hate when I can’t place where I know someone from. The memory just isn’t quite as sharp as it once was.
2) I sometimes long for the days when I had toddlers because each day was filled with new discoveries and adventures.
3) Thinking about my daddy always makes me smile because he was such a genuinely caring and special man.
4) My favorite day of this week so far was Sunday because I got to spend the entire day with my husband.
I also thought I would add a few photos of fabulous food that we had on our recent trip to Wyoming. Enjoy!
I love Sundays, too, although this past one (five hours on the road) was not necessarily my favorite.
OK, on the food. It all looks so delicious. But what is pig candy? Bacon with ?
Pig candy is a wonderful treat. Bacon slowly baked with a combo of sugars and a hint of spicy. I had to splurge on it and they served so much we had snacks for several days. I tried to make a batch when we got home but I put too much cayenne and baked it a bit too long so it is still a work in progress to recreate. 🙂
Oh, my, does that sound divine. Have you ever tried a maple bacon pecan sundae? The best.
Nope–need to put that on my list.
I have heard a lot about pig candy on the Food Network cooking shows. Would love to try it sometime.
Once again, your post shows how Americans “travel on their stomachs”…LOL! There are so many awesome eating spots ‘out there’! DH knows many from his days of long-haul trucking….passing by so many spots that couldn’t accommodate his vehicle. Our trips, now, take in many of those missed gems. Have a great weekend!!! Hugs…..
I think you definitely need to take advantage of the places he couldn’t stop at in his travels!!!
Yup!!!
Oh my goodness. Those dishes look fantastic, especially the pasta. Makes me crave a big plate right now. I like that you smile when you think of your dad. I smile when I think of my grandma but it’s still tinged with so much sadness…
I understand the sadness……understandably so. That pasta was really good–simple but good!
I am very curious on what Pig Candy is….
A little bit of deliciousness is what it is!!! 🙂
Pig candy does not sound good to me but it probably is better than it sounds.
It really is yummy—trust me on this.
those pictures look delicious!
Your dad sounds like an amazing man…
The food, as always, is a highlight! And yep—my dad was pretty fabulous!!! I miss him every day.
I hope you enjoyed your trip to Wyoming – your food pics seem to say ‘yes’
Absolutely enjoyed it!! Very relaxing and yes—great food! Thanks for stopping by!
I’ll be with you in a minute, still drooling over the cobbler.
Wow! What great food pictures. Makes me hungry. Why do the chocolate moose look like bison?
It was a a restaurant that was a lodge and the bison are the most popular animal to see there.
Snake River Brewery. Um, my parents never took me there!!!!
Haha! Well maybe just maybe it wasn’t there where YOU were there! It was a hopping place when we stopped. Nice selection of food—I am not a beer lover so no beer for me plus we were just getting there and wanted to just eat and get to the condo so there was no lingering.
