  1. Miranda Gargasz says:

Chocolate is an ingredient in mole sauce so, in way, it is a sort of condiment. I wonder, will being freshly pressed empty your bank account? I’ve never wished for someone to be broke before, lol!

    • I have thought about that same concept of how it would affect my “donation” for the month and being featured on SITS this month definitely gave me a sizable bump but I think the “fame” is short lived and people don’t always come back so I “think” I would be okay …….and if not …..I will blame it all on you!!!! 🙂

  2. My mom made the most fantastic animal-shaped birthday cakes for all of us kids. That was our gift because our family was too poor for gift giving. Doesn’t matter. We didn’t know any better and Mom made our cakes so special. We always got to choose the design from a little booklet she had.

    • See—isn’t it awesome that our moms did that for us???? I tried to do the same thing for our boys because I remember how neat our birthdays were complete with the cool cakes. I bet my mom had the same book that your mom had!!!! Lots of coconut decorated ones—I think it might have been a freebie from a coconut product maker!!! I remember a really cute bear with toasted coconut all over it!!!

  3. I love a good birthday party and have great memories of the ones we used to celebrate as children. I miss it. It’s not the same here, so far away from most of the family! But we are making our own memories, so that counts. 🙂

  4. My mom would make ice cream cone thingies that looked like clowns for my bday. I loved them. Is there a technical word for those? Yikes, labor day is coming up.

  5. I need to change my answer to number 2 since Chocolate is a condiment LOL

  6. I actually think chocolate should be in the food pyramid. 🙂 I agree with you Labor day and I think that when July 4th comes around that summer is already half over!

  7. I’ll celebrate any day… with chocolate condiments!

    • Thanks, Jon! I think we should just make it happen and include it in the condiment aisle—a little strategic moving of items every time you visit the grocery shouldn’t be too difficult to pull off now, should it?

  8. I’m with you on #4! I need a week to finish organizing and make it a workable space.

  9. any one who has any sense KNOWS that chocolate is a condiment! I mean seriously… little chocolate jimmies on … well everything! and chocoloate syrup in milk, and coffee, and vodka… errrrrr… maybe not the last one!
    Have agreat weekend

  10. I like baking my kid’s birthday cakes, but I’ve never made them in any kind of shapes other than bundt cake shape. That must have been super cool! I never thought about chocolate as a condiment, it’s more like a daily vitamin to me ;). Have a great weekend!

  11. #2 brilliant.
    that’s all 🙂

  12. The cake is the centerpiece for a good party! My friend got a chocolate cake decorated in all of my favorite colors and bright for my 40th. t was for the big party they had for my 40th and she told me I didn’t get the OTH stuff because I was like a little kid turning 10 about the whole round number thing. ut speaking of chocolate, I thought it was a vitamin; kisses are supplements if you have a low-chocolate day. 🙂

  13. Georgiana Hill says:

I have always thought chocolate was a food group.

  14. I refuse to believe that summer has to end at Labor day 🙂

  15. Ok, you take the cake on the condiment response! Chocolate IS a condiment! How could I have not thought about that???

I love your comments--each one makes me smile and makes a difference for Comments for a Cause! Thanks!
