Teapot Tuesday—Tea at the Fairmont Empress

My fabulous husband made sure that my anniversary trip was special in every way.  He took the planning very seriously and did all within his power to ensure that I had the best possible time and he was quite successful.  One of the very best things that he did was make a reservation for afternoon tea at the Fairmont Empress in Victoria, British Columbia.  It was fabulous.  I oohed and ahhed.  I took it all in and loved the entire experience.

After we had our wonderful “tea party” we had to go across the hall to the convenient “everything tea” store!!!  🙂   Chris spoiled me even more and bought me the 6 cup teapot that they use in the Fairmont—their own special Empress pattern and now I have one of my very own!!!  It is beautiful and I love it and can’t wait to serve some special friends some fabulous tea from it.

Enjoy the slide show!!!  Hope you enjoy it a fraction of how much I enjoyed it!!!

  4. What a sweet husband you have. I might be able to convince mine to join me for tea because of the strawberries. What a wonderful memory for you, now forever yours in that tea set.

  5. What a lovely teapot, and quite a lovely place, too!

  6. Lovely, lovely pictures. I would have enjoyed that immensely and I love that tea pot! What a wonderful reminder of your time there. 🙂

What a sweetie you have ! Love the teapot..absolutely beautiful!

  8. It’s 22 years (yes that long) since we had afternoon tea at the Empress and we loved it. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a tea pot but hope you have many happy years using it. And that Andy got into the action again…

    • Oh my goodness—22 years ago??? I know I will remember this 22 years from now unless I am senile by then!!! It was amazing and it is very neat to know someone else who had the same experience! And yes—Andy did get in on it!!!

  9. This is a beautiful teapot. Love your collection! 🙂

  10. I’ve walked through the Empress many times… especially at Christmas time for their annual Christmas tree display… but have never had tea there. But a good friend and I just decided we are going for tea this month! So what lovely timing to see your post and photos. Looks like you really enjoyed it!

{Kathy} I went to England in December 2011!! I am salivating looking at these pictures. What did you find to be different about the tea and trimmings over the pond?

    • I am so glad you liked the pics!!! I loved the Fairmont Empress and the tea that they offered there was a really great blend unique to them! I was really spoiled that day for sure!!!

  12. I am lucky enough to call beautiful Vancouver Island (but sadly not Victoria) my home. Although I have been to Victoria (and the Empress) many, many times, having afternoon tea in their tea room is something that I have yet to do. Thank you for the reminder that I need to make it happen!! I hope you enjoyed your time in Victoria!

    • I love Vancouver Island!!! You all are so gracious and wonderful hosts!! Thanks!!! And yes–you need to put that on your list of things to do—it was fabulous!

I love your comments--each one makes me smile and makes a difference for Comments for a Cause! Thanks!
