Pet Celebrities!

You can find anything on the internet.  You can especially find anything on Etsy.  I have extolled the wonders of Etsy before and have shared with you all of the wonderful shops that I have found --especially on this post.  Well, wonder of all wonders--I found yet another shop to add to my favorites and add something to my wish list.  I am telling you all so you can all start working on it .... The shop is called Pet Celebrities and is GENIUS, in my humble opinion.   For $250 the artist will … [Read more...]

Teapot Tuesday—Oink Oink

My sweet son got me a teapot for my birthday!  I finally got it when I went to visit him last week in Jacksonville Beach and I LOVE it!!! It is adorable and I thought that I should have the whole cuppa experience documented.   So with the help of my Mr. Wonderful (Chris) I attempted to show how the piggy teapot works in real life---in the ideal world the wind would not have been whipping around at 70 miles per hour (I blame the bad hair on that, folks) and the photographer would have been … [Read more...]

Remembering

Memorial Day is more than cookouts and the start of summer.  We love this weekend because that is what it is for many of us.  There is absolutely nothing wrong with that---I am all for steaks on the grill, potato salad and some patriotic dessert featuring strawberries and blueberries in the shape of the flag.  But honestly, it is so much more. I read a little article the other day in USA Today that I strongly would recommend you hop over to read.  The article, This Memorial Day, Show Military … [Read more...]

Curiouser and Curiouser

My husband got a letter in the mail today from a law firm in Chicago.   I asked him if he was in trouble.  As he opened the letter a check fell out.  A check for $66.66.  Not a whopping amount but an unexpected check, nonetheless. The letter informed him that this was terms of a settlement that he was made aware of on July 4, 2011.  Neither of us has any recollection of that letter but last year was kind of a blur.  Evidentially if he cashes this check he agrees to the terms of the Chapter 11 … [Read more...]

I am back home in Iowa.  Got the hubby picked up from his flight back from China.  Cats are thrilled we are home.  Life is good.  AND IT IS FRIDAY!   Which means it is time for about the only blog hop that I still do!  Hilary at Feeling Beachie sponsors this great hop every week and has us all fill in the blanks.  She works hard on this so hop on over to her blog and join in the fun.  I can't support the linky on my blog (just doesn't work with my format) but it doesn't mean you can't go to … [Read more...]

It’s A Wonderful Life

It is indeed.  A wonderful life.  This week I have been enjoying the wonderful life.  The life of being with our oldest son.  Soaking up the sunshine.  Eating at great restaurants. (If you want to know which ones here is the list---Kickbacks Gastropub, Caps On the Water, Matthew's and TacoLu) .   Meeting his friends and getting to know them a bit.  Having lunch with a friend that I met during our Navy days years ago.  It is indeed a wonderful life.  But two separate conversations have led me to … [Read more...]

What Every Mother Desires

Chris and I have a tradition on Mother's Day.  The boys used to be a part of it although Aaron says he has no memory of this being our tradition so I guess it wasn't a very good one!!!  Church followed by a picnic which usually involved a drive through at Kentucky Fried Chicken.  Maybe not that healthy but it was what I always wanted to do. By Mother's Day you could usually count on the weather being fairly decent in whatever state we were in so it was a win win.   Add to it the gift of flowers … [Read more...]
