So You Say You Like Succulent?

I am always on the look out for neat things to have around my house and outside.  We had our deck redone late last summer (got to spend one whole weekend on it before we temporarily moved to Ohio) and I am very anxious to start using it this year.  We have a fabulous ironwood table set that we brought back from Australia that is still unassembled in the garage as our old deck had benches and it would not fit!   That may be a project for the husband—it was all I could do to put together the Rubbermaid Deck Storage box!!!

I was surfing Etsy awhile back and found the most fabulous shop called So Succulent.  What I loved was the unique and stunningly beautiful living walls made out of succulents that were featured.  So of course I ordered and have had a great exchange via email and Etsy messages with the owner.   My little vertical wall art is growing like mad and is going to be fabulous by the end of summer, I know!!!  I took pictures of the steps along the way and added a shot of what it looks like today so you can see how great it is doing. The neat thing about some of the plants is that you can clip them back and poke them down in the empty holes and start a whole new plant there!!!  I had to share this with you. Make sure you check out her site and let me know if you order anything.  (I am not getting paid to do this—just love the product and would love to shower her with some bloggy love!!).

  1. how cool! Love it! especially the shot with buddy!

  2. That is pretty cool. I can’t wait to see how it grows. Do you have to water it somehow?

    • It doesn’t need a lot of water so it is low maintainence which is good! Just sprinkle it /spray lightly! It has really grown a lot since I planted them and I keep trimming them and sticking those in the spaces. Pretty cool.

  3. that is so, so cool. I can’t wait to see it when it’s all filled and lush! incredible.

  4. Helen Brown says:

I just saw one something like this on TV. It was on making the whole thing yourself and then planting it.. I think I would choose buying it like you did. Yours looks really nice and it will be even better when the blooms fill in more.

    • Well I went the easy route and just bought the frame already made. I am sure Chris could have made me one but the question would have been when would he have gotten to it? 🙂

  5. Well I have to say something to add to the kitty for “Comments for a Cause” so I will just say that I hope you spend many more days of fun and sun on your deck. Have a wonderful day.

  6. Unfortunately, living in a suite, I am highly restricted on what I can put on my balcony & this would not pass muster, so I hope you will post updates so I can enjoy yours!

  7. This is totally coolllll and doggy dig proof!
I wonder if you can do other things than succulents —- you know…gotta have me my flowers!

  8. I have seen those and I love them! I finally gave up on my kitchen window box since everything was burned to death in the afternoon sun. I plopped some succulents in a pot and the LOVE it there! I may have to check this out! 🙂

  9. That is so cool, Beth Ann!

  10. That’s just a great idea. I wonder if someone with as black a thumb as me could do that??? 🙂

  11. Thank you for supporting So Succulent Gardens! You did a great job….Great Photo’s

    • Not sure if you will get any sales as a result but I loved the product and wanted to share!!! It’s always good to share, right??? Thanks again, Gayle for the great product and service!
